Shannon Scott-Vernaglia, MD

I am a primary care pediatrician and medical educator, committed to clinician health and well-being. I currently serve as the Director of the Office of Clinical Careers in the MGH Center for Faculty Development. I was a coach for trainees, coaching fellows and residents, for several years prior to embarking on formal certification through WellCoaches School of Coaching. I believe coaching is an important way to give agency back to physicians to prioritize what matters in their own lives and careers to match their values and passions. In addition to medical education, I am passionate about decreasing stigma around clinician mental illness, and I hope that coaching is one way to help upstream to decrease risk of burnout and depression among our staff. I love to read, garden and bake in my spare time to maintain my own well-being. My husband of more than 25 years and I love walks in the woods. We have two older teenaged children who have taught us to love Broadway, board games, and throwback TV series, and are the joys of our lives.
