Mental Health Connections for employees and their families

Mental Health Connections, a new clinical assessment service, helps connect Mass General Brigham employees, their spouses, partners and dependents with the most appropriate and accessible behavioral health treatment, both within and outside the Mass General Brigham system. Employees do not need to be enrolled in a Mass General Brigham health plan to use this service.

Since its launch in 2021, the Mental Health Connections triage service has helped hundreds of employees and their family members. The goal is to create a low-barrier central pathway to inquire about the wide range of resources that exist and work with a clinician to determine treatment needs and preferences.

If interested in learning more, email mentalhealthmatters@partners.org. Their team will respond within three business days.

We Care Peer Support Program

The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented challenge in health care, posing new and significant stressors to health care clinicians and support staff. MGH has expanded its peer support programs to address the stress, grief and uncertainty staff may be experiencing during these difficult times.

Peer support is “emotional first aid” for clinicians affected by traumatic events or situations in the context of patient care. Peer supporters are fellow clinicians who have been specially trained to provide emotional support, coping skills and resource information for additional support and/or treatment. Support is empathetic, non-judgmental and strictly confidential.

The Peer Support website offers more information on peer support and additional support resources. To request peer support services, please complete the Request Peer Support form, and a peer support specialist will contact you within 24 hours.

MGH Buddy Program

Working in health care can be very rewarding and yet also stressful. To continue to support the well-being needs of MGH staff, the MGH Workplace Well-Being Collaborative – the same group that created the Employee Well-Being site and the Going Home Checklist – have created the MGH Buddy Program. The MGH Buddy Program connects employees to each other to help protect against the isolation many are feeling and enhance social connections at work.

Modeled after the many hospital and military Battle Buddy programs, this program allows participants to share experiences and stories, and build community at work. Through this program, you and your paired buddy connect by text, phone or video to catch up and connect. Program buddies can be cross-discipline, cross-departmental, or peers in your department.

Complete the survey to get or confirm a buddy. Additional questions can be emailed to mghbuddy@mgh.partners.edu.
